W.A. Mozart: Requiem
14.10.2024
We would like to invite you to a concert in a beautiful space of the church of The Infant Jesus of Prague:
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Requiem in C
Mozart’s Requiem impresses with its incredible range of emotions – from quiet, melancholic passages to the immersive forte of the orchestra and chorus. Movements such as Lacrimosa, Dies Irae and Confutatis are not only musical gems, but also reminders of human transience and hope. Adding to the mystery of the work are the curious circumstances under which it was composed, for Mozart died while working on the Requiem and legend has it that just before his death he was convinced that he was composing a funeral mass for himself. It is no wonder that the Requiem continues to enjoy an enduring popularity today, more than 230 years after its composition. To hear it live is to experience its power first-hand. On 1 November you can hear it in our church: the “Hornický pěvecký” Choir with soloists Kateřina Stolová, Olga Poltorak, Martin Slavik and David Malát will be accompanied by the Temere musicantes ensemble. Conducted by Janek Makarius.
By the way, last year’s performance was sold out and the atmosphere was unforgettable… Don’t miss it this year!
