The coronation celebration 2016
The celebration of coronation of the Infant Jesus takes place traditionally on the first Sunday in May. The coronation of the Infant Jesus expresses the faith that the Child Jesus is the gracious King of the whole world. The origin of the tradition dates back to the 17 th century. At present, Infant Jesus is decorated with a crown gifted by Pope Benedict XVI, which was placed on the statue personally by the Pope during his visit to Prague in 2009. The statue of Infant Jesus is displayed in the presbytery during the Saturday and Sunday.
